sooo i haven't updated in like 9000 years because ever since school started i've been busy as fuck. it's been ok becuase i get to mix it up a lot. it either darkroom or drawing or reading of some sort, which is SUCH a welcome change from bookpaperbookpaperbookpaper like the rest of my academic career. i never have any fucking free time though. i havent been drunk in WEEKS and i'm skipping class to do that tonight. possibly see the jackass movie.

so basically, this is my life:

i'm coming back to st louis october 20 for my dad's birthday. last time i was there it sucked a lot. hopefully this time will be less lame.

i'm excited for school to start. yea, i said it. this is my chance. i get to start COMPLETELY over doing something that i really care about. it's going to rule. i'm so glad to be done with depaul (no offense, depaul people).

thursday i went to the L&L with schwenk and my friend NY james. i got really drunk and was super happy and had a great time. Mike showed up at around 1am. it was nice. apparently i did something really wrong because i puked for 6 hours on friday when i woke up. it wasn't fun. i went a solid 6 months without puking and it was really nice. i hope to go back to that soon.

theiss, schwenk and i had this pipe dream of going to portland in a couple weeks to see sleater-kinney's last show. ticketmaster is an asshole and prevented us from doing this. i will never see them again becuase i'l be in st louis during lollapalooza. i'm so bummed because a fucking band broke up. i'm a weirdo.

i was waiting for the bus earlier, wearing my $4 1 ♥ ny t-shirt and this woman asked me if i was from there. i said no, i just visited my friend there a few months ago, and she started talking...and didn't stop until i had to get off the bus. but she was hilarious and offered me a job photographing her and her food for her catering company. i'm supposed to call her on sunday.

also, i have a full time job now. it's basically the same shit i've been doing since i was 15 (minus strange cargo), so meh. it's easy as shit and they will give me hours, i'm ok with it. and i still get to go to back to kenosha this weekend to meet mike's little sister (she's older then me...awkward). and i'm for sure coming to st louis on august 2 to help rachies move and hang out for 5 days. NICE.

st louis was cool this weekend. it wasn't a crazy party like it usually is, but that's probably because my dad was in town haha. but it was awesome, it was my grandma's 80th birthday and my entire extended family was in town. there was a big party on sunday and my dad hired me as the official photographer. everyone kept coming up to me saying "i hear you're going to go to school for photography, that's so cool!" and i kept telling them how excited i am about it. my family is genuinely happy for me. both of my parents kept telling everyone they're just so happy to see me finally excited about what i want to do with my life. it's refreshing for me too, let me tell you.

this weekend was really awesome, as weekends in st louis tend to be. i showed brandon around the city and made him eat toasted ravioli and imos and i got to drink good beer and have my relatives pay for it. however, st louis depresses me now more than ever. every place i showed him is different. some of them are closing or don't even exist anymore. my favorite places are fucked and the people are the same thing. some people that i love have changed a lot. some people that i love and should be changing have not. it's hard to explain. it's really great to actually have shit to do in that city though. but that doesn't make it good. fuck st louis. here are some pictures.

the first night we got there tyler told me that he was kicked out again and basically lived at my place all weekend. that night we all drank at my place and he gave steve-o a tattoo on his finger. ask him how he feels about it in a month, it will be great.

well, this weekend was pretty awesome. i saw all the people i set out to see, even if it wasn't for a long amount of time or one on one. friday mickey had people over and saturday chris had people over so there was much drinking and laughing and watching funny shit. sunday i watched part of purple rain with mickey and then had a night o fun with mike. monday was one year since we started hanging out. one fucking year. we just kinda stared at each other all night going "woah...". it doesn't seem like it's been that long, but i'm so comfortable around the boy and happy with him that it makes sense. i convince myself of things when i haven't seen him for a long period of time. also, i lost my wallet somewhere between midway and st louis and then i left my cell phone at mike's when we left. so i've been pretty much dead to the world lately.

well, i officially haven't updated in like 9 years. mainly because the power keeps going out in my room (where the computer is) and my land lord's a jackass. it only goes out in my room, though, it's great.

school starts on wednesday. blahhhh. i love my job and i wish i could just work a whole lot and make money and buy stuff. but alas, i must learn or something. my job is really great, though. everyone there continues to be awesome. and i learn things. for instance, yesterday dan explained to me what "the stranger" is. it's where you sit on your hand for 20 minutes until it goes numb and then you masturbate. get it? stranger? i couldn't stop laughing for like 2 hours.

everyone is coming back in town and i am very happy about it. lester moved in a couple days ago and molly moves in tomorrow. eep! also, mike is coming in town this weekend and, oh joy, i'ts going to be the greatest weekend ever. i know, i know. you're saying "uhh, what? mike? i thought...blah blah." well, i'm not going to explain everything to people on here but if you want to know, ask i guess.

tonight is the release party for the Machine, the magazine i shot He Who Corrupts for. it's supposed to be the cover story, but i wouldn't know because brandon is a fuckhead and i haven't heard anything since i gave him the pictures. either way, i'm really excited to see how everything turned out and talk to the band and see if they liked it. tonight could be really fucking awesome or a mild disaster.

i hate to say it but ever since mike and i broke up i have been so much happier with my situation here. not that i don't miss him like fucking crazy (im not getting into it), but once i stopped wanting to go to st louis every five seconds i really started to make a life for myself here. one thing that i missed about st louis was the familiarity with places and people. like the girl at the diner and the people at carl's who know exactly what i want. now i have that here and chicago feels more like home than ever before. i'm a happy girl at the moment.

i'm going to florida tomorrow for a few days. melissa is coming to visit me next weekend and emily kate is coming back in town!!! ohhh such excitement. and now i must eat and go to the beach.

who got a job? this bitch. i had my first day at strange cargo today and it was awesome. within the first half hour someone told me that i didn't have enough tattoos to be working there. i think i'll be happy there. also there's a doggy which is awesome.

i got my hurr cut. i got a lot of it chopped off and i looove it. i actually wore it down for almost the whole day yesterday. if you know me, you know that's crazy talk. ive decided that taking a satisfactory picture of myself is impossible, so you'll just have to wait until someone else takes a decent one. it makes me happy though.

im going to florida on thursday with the pops. im going to make sweet love to the ocean.

tomorrow im going to the wicker park fest to drink with head of femur and it's going to be fun. sometimes life can be really awesome even if you're a dumb asshole like me.

OH and schwenk and i are probably getting a puppy next week. HELL YES. and pete and chris might come in town. sounds like the greatest week everrrr.
